Taking time off can be a challenge for a freelancer like me. Luckily, the corporate event season, along with pretty much everything else in Sweden, slows down during the summer, so there aren’t a lot of big meetings and conferences that need live illustration.
This summer I am going to be taking most of July off. I will check my emails and do a few office tasks but I will be spending a lot of time away from screens – in the garden, at the beach, walking in forests and watching city park concerts.
I hope you have a wonderful summer – whatever your definition of wonderful is!

FAQ: How long in advance to I need to book a conference illustrator?
For events in August and September, I would really recommend booking in June or July.
In general, the sooner the better. I like to have at least two weeks to talk through the event, do my research and prepare, plan my travel etc. That’s not to say I haven’t done events with less preparation time, but two weeks or more will make the experience calmer for me, and the result better for you.
