I transform complex ideas into clear, engaging visual communication.

illustrations

These illustrations were created to help my client educate authorities and policy makers about the situation of Thai women in Sweden. They were used in presentations and reports.

brochures, reports and flyers

I am a graphic designer as well as an illustrator. Here are some samples of relevant design work I have done.

Please note that many of these illustrations were done using a flat computer-made technique. While I can still work this way, I now prefer to illustrate with a looser, more hand-made style (as seen above).

I am including them as they show that I have experience and skills in creating illustrations that work in a brochure or report.

live illustration (aka graphic recording or live visual summaries)

These illustrations translate complex subjects into easy-to-understand visual summaries.

Why choose megan?

BROAD EXPERIENCE

As well as illustration, my career has included copy-writing, marketing, project management, communications campaigns and graphic design.

I bring all of this to the table when I work for clients, making me a communications powerhouse!

THE BIG PICTURE

I have studied and worked with graphic design (still do!) so I have an excellent grasp of layout, colour theory and visual hierarchy.

ON YOUR SIDE

I am a team player. Even as a freelancer, I take your goals to heart and do my best to help your project succeed.

WE’LL GET ALONG

Clients always tell me that I am pleasant and easy to work with.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual: native English-speaker, fluent in Swedish.

Being bilingual makes me very aware of the need for simplicity and clarity in communications, visual and written.

my process

Note: each of these steps is approved by the client before moving onto the next step.

  1. Key messages – I identify key points to be included in the brochure.
  2. Rough sketches – I use sketches to explore different ways of communicating key information. These sketches are done within the layout of the brochure to make sure they work well in their context. The client and I discuss these and choose the best version of each illustration.
  3. Second sketches – after choosing the best of the rough sketches, I create a more finished version of the illustration for client approval.
  4. Finals – I create the final version of the illustration, delivering it in the agreed format.
So you aren't ready to book me just yet, but think we could work well together in the future?
