Illustration

Hand-crafted images that bring your documents to life.

Wonderfully wobbly illustrations, created by a human hand, that bring your stories and ideas to life.

My illustrations enhance your text with distinctive visuals, making it easier for your readers to understand and relate to your message.

I work with traditional media (such as ink and watercolours on paper) and with a digital drawing tablet. Regardless of the media I use, every image is a product of human creativity and craftsmanship  – no AI involved.

I especially love to draw children and pre-teens, horses, gardens, historical figures and middle-aged women with real-life bodies having a good time!

Are you looking for LIVE illustration? (AKA graphic recording). Come on over here.

Summer holidays for these pre-teens

Three ten-year old friends enjoying an ice-cream, and an eight-year old facing a horse on his first day of riding camp.

Historical library

This bookshelf with figures from history was created to promote the library of a historical society. It was painted with sepia ink, a brush and a quill.

Hand-drawn illustrations for corporate documents

In the age of AI, hand-drawn illustrations make reports, brochures and websites really stand out. These portraits were hand-painted with black ink on paper.

Fairy-tale illustration: Sepia ink on paper

Scenes from the well-known fairy-tale, Rapunzel. These were hand-painted with ink on paper.

Thai women in Sweden: high risk of exploitation

These illustrations were done to explain the factors that lead to exploitation, and the organisations that can work together to prevent it.

Illustrating values

I created these to illustrate company values, my company values!

They represent the following values: encouraging body positivity, celebrating neurodiversity, caring for the environment, nurturing good mental health, fostering strong real life communities and enjoying and protecting the natural world.

Children

Putting personality and movement into illustrations is key to making them appealing.

This is a character sheet showing a young girl in a variety of poses: running, strolling, reading in an armchair, sulking with her arms crossed and trying to hold onto a bouncy dog as it bounds after a running boy.

Do you need a professional illustrator?

1. Use the contact form below (email is also fine) to let me know a little about your project.

2. I will contact you to arrange a video meeting. (Some people don’t like talking on the phone – in that case we will keep using email.)

3. We will pinpoint what you need, your deadline and your budget. If my skills are a good match for your needs, we’ll go on to the next step.

4. Creative brief: this is a document that pins down the details of our collaboration. It includes timelines, exactly what will be delivered, limitations and requirements, licensing and a price. Once we agree on the brief, we can get to work! (Complex assignments will need a more formal contract.)

I send it about about once a month. It is the best way to find out about my limited-offer deals and competitions. (Because, as we all know, social media is a fickle friend.)

It’s personal and professional at the same time, peppered with recent work, drawings and sketchbook pages. I always include a few good links to things that are beautiful, thought-provoking or amusing and often give my readers a free image for their private use.
I respect your privacy and will never ever share your information.
